Former Seahawks graduating this semester

Six years ago that the Seattle Seahawks selected Bruce Irvin in the first round of the NFL draft, and in his second season with the Hawks he helped propel them to a Super Bowl Championship. Saturday, after two years with the Oakland Raiders, Irvin is celebrating another feat, this one a personal accomplishment he reached off the field.

That is a huge accomplishment, and it definitely helps to show that almost no matter where someone finds themself in life, they still have the ability to improve their life. Irvin wrote some about his past for The Players’ Tribune late last year, and it’s a great read for anyone who has not read it.

However, Irvin isn’t the only former Seahawk who has been busy in the classroom recently. Here’s a post from Ben Obomanu, who played wide receiver for the Hawks under all three of the most recent head coaches, Mike Holmgren, Jim Mora and Pete Carroll.

Even wore a jersey underneath that graduation gown.

A big congratulations to both Irvin and Obomanu, and if anyone is aware of any other former Seahawks graduating this spring, be sure to make note of it in the comments.
