Seahawks are signing CB Dontae Johnson, who started all 16 games for the Niners last year, source says. So the NFC West rivals swapped starting CBs.

Johnson started all 16 games for the San Francisco 49ers in 2017, meaning that, as Garafolo points out in the tweet, the Niners and Hawks will have swapped starting cornes with Richard Sherman having signed with San Francisco.
Johnson is a tall corner, at 6’2″, so he fits the mold of outside cornerbacks that the Seahawks like, however, his play on the field has left a lot to be desired. He graded out as one of the worst cornerbacks in the NFL in 2017, and was repeatedly targeted in coverage as one of the weak spots in the 49er defense.
Johnson had met with the Minnesota Vikings earlier this week, but apparently did not receive the offer he had hoped for.
Source: the Vikings hosted former 49ers CB Dontae Johnson on a free agent visit. He’s a 2014 fourth round pick who started 16 games in 2017.

It’s unlikely that Johnson signed for much more than the league minimum, but once contract details are available, I will be sure to post them.
