Inside the Film: What Duane Brown brings to the Seahawks

I did a quick scouting report on Duane Browns film and how he can help the Seattle offensive line.

The Seattle Seahawks addressed one of their most pressing needs this week by trading for All-Pro left tackle Duane Brown, formerly of the Houston Texans. After facing off in Week 8, where the Seahawks prevailed in a 41-38 shootout victory, Seattle struggled to run the ball against a Houston defensive line already sans J.J. Watt and Whitney Mercilus; the Seahawks tallied less than ten rushing yards from running backs and that performance may well have been the final straw for the front office to trade for a top-tier tackle.

Brown will step into the left tackle spot immediately, supplanting second-year man Rees Odhiambo who had taken over the role since George Fant went down in the preseason. In this video, i take a look at what Duane Brown can do to help a Seahawks line that has made strides over the past month but have ultimately struggled to run block and protect quarterback Russell Wilson.

We’ll get our first look at him in that position on Sunday when Seattle hosts Washington.
